Discipleship & Life Ministries

At St. John Baptist Church, we are committed to spiritual growth through teaching, fellowship, and community. Our Discipleship & Life Ministries—Education, Women’s, and Men’s—are designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, support, and biblical guidance to live out their faith fully and intentionally.

Education Ministry

Ministry Leader: Pat Shepherd

Mission Statement:
The Education Ministry is committed to providing a positive learning environment that promotes considerate, responsible, and spiritually healthy behaviors rooted in the Word of God.

Purpose:
To support the church’s vision, mission, and goals by offering educational programs and training that provide knowledge, opportunity, inspiration, and motivation for Christian growth.

The Education Ministry also oversees all teaching staff and is responsible for reviewing, approving, and distributing Bible study materials used throughout SJBC.

Women's Ministry

Mission Statement:

To help every woman become a more secure woman in Christ.

Purpose:

To guide women in their healing and growth journey by grounding them in God’s Word.

Vision:

To provide the tools and spiritual guidance women need to grow as mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, and friends in Christ.

Aim:

To create a safe and open space where women can share life experiences and overcome barriers that hinder full surrender to Christ.

The Women’s Ministry is a supportive sisterhood focused on spiritual development, emotional healing, and empowerment through God’s love and truth.

Bro. Joe Peterson & Bro. Terrence Davis

Mission Statement:
To reach and equip the men of St. John with the love of Christ, encouraging them to grow in a personal relationship with God.

Purpose:
To teach and apply God's Word in every area of life—becoming Godly men who can disciple others.

Vision:
To transform lives through the Word of God while building brotherhood, accountability, and strength in leadership. We aim to empower men to lead in their homes, workplaces, church, and community with boldness and biblical wisdom.

Aim & Motto (2 Timothy 2:2):
Because St. John is committed to kingdom growth and spiritual maturity, we aim to fulfill Christ’s mandate in Matthew 28:18–20—to make disciples and teach them to observe all things commanded by Christ.

Participation Includes:
Men are vital to the life of the church, serving as leaders and volunteers for major events like the Block Party, and stepping into roles such as teachers, deacons, youth mentors, and more. (Training provided.)
