Evangelism Ministry

Leader: Brother Roderick Diggs

The Evangelistic Ministry exists to reach beyond the church walls, providing outreach to the community and coordinating events that connect people to Christ through the local church.
The Evangelism Team also follows up with visitors and new prospects who attend our services, helping them feel valued and connected to the body of Christ.

Prayer Ministry

Mission Statement:
We are a group of believers who trust that when we pray, the presence and power of God are unleashed.

Purpose:
To make prayer a way of life through consistency, perseverance, and intercession to meet the needs of God’s people.

Vision:
Prayer reminds us that we need God more than He needs us. It brings us into alignment with His heart, focusing on His will rather than our own desires.

Sunday Morning Prayer Focus:

Fulfillment of the vision God has given our pastor

Prayer for

- The pastor's needs

- The Sunday service

- Church ministries and workers

- Congregational needs

- Anything else God lays on our hearts

The Prayer Ministry is grounded in submission—to God and to church leadership—believing in the power of partnership with the Holy Spirit through prayer.

Praise & Worship Ministry

Mission Statement:
The Praise Team strives to offer an excellent standard of praise and worship by developing our vocal and instrumental gifts to usher in the presence of God.

Purpose:
To create an atmosphere where the presence of God is manifested through prophetic song, sound, and a corporate anointing—strengthening the church’s relationship with Him.

The Praise Team is a vital part of every Sunday worship experience, helping to set the spiritual tone for the service through heartfelt and Spirit-led worship.

Greeters Ministry

Mission Statement:
Our Greeters are here to reflect the love of Christ and make everyone feel like they are part of the SJBC family.

Purpose:
To eliminate fear and encourage love by showing the beauty of a warm smile and heartfelt welcome as people enter the church doors.

Usher Ministry

Mission Statement:
To welcome, serve, assist, love, and show hospitality to all who enter the doors of St. John Baptist Church.

Purpose:
To serve as doorkeepers in the House of God (Psalm 84:10), offering orderly and joyful assistance during worship services.

Vision:
To collectively work as a team to create a warm and welcoming environment for all members and guests through dedicated service.

Aim:
To ensure every person who enters our sanctuary experiences the love of Christ and a sense of peace, order, and belonging.

Motto:
“If every usher was just like me, what would this Usher Ministry be?”
